According to the police, the threat email warned that he would be killed in the ‘same manner’ as his father. The sender also demanded ₹10 crore from Mr. Siddique.
Mumbai:
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late Baba Siddique, has received a death threat via email, police officials confirmed on Monday.
According to police sources, the threatening email warned that Zeeshan would be killed in the “same way” as his father. The sender also demanded a ransom of ₹10 crore and reportedly threatened to continue sending such emails every six hours.
In a statement to ANI, Zeeshan Siddique claimed that the threat originated from the notorious underworld network known as D Company. “I got a threat via mail from D Company, as mentioned at the end of the email. They demanded ₹10 crore. The police have taken all the details and recorded my statement. Our family is disturbed because of this,” he said.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway. Authorities have not disclosed further details as the probe continues.
This development comes months after Zeeshan’s father, veteran NCP leader Baba Siddique, was shot dead on October 12, 2024, by three assailants near Zeeshan’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the assassination. Mumbai Police’s investigation revealed that the key suspect, Akashdeep Gill, was arrested in Punjab. Police stated that Gill used a labourer’s mobile hotspot to communicate with co-conspirators, including Anmol Bishnoi, the alleged mastermind behind the plot. Gill is believed to have served as the logistics coordinator in the murder conspiracy.
