Israel Retaliates Against Missile Attack With Air Strike in Iran: Report

Date:

Days after Iran launched a drone strike on Israel in retaliation for an attack at the Iranian embassy in Syria, ABC News claimed late on Thursday that Israeli missiles had struck a location in Iran, citing a US official.
The explosion was reported at an airport in the Iranian city of Isafahan, according to Iran’s Fars news agency, though the reason was not immediately known. The Isfahan province is home to several Iranian nuclear plants, the most prominent of which is Natanz, the hub of Iran’s uranium enrichment program.
According to CNN, multiple planes were routed through Iranian airspace.

Iran sent hundreds of drones and missiles into Syria over the weekend in retaliation for what it believed to be an Israeli strike on its embassy compound.

Before they entered Israeli territory, the majority of the drones and missiles were shot down.
The Middle East is in a “moment of maximum peril,” the UN secretary-general warned, while Iran urged the UN Security Council on Thursday that Israel “must be compelled to stop any further military adventurism against our interests.”
Israel has declared that it will respond to Iran’s missile and drone attack on April 13.
Concerns regarding the possibility of the Israel-Gaza conflict escalating to the rest of the region have been voiced by analysts and observers.
