According to a Mumbai police official, five additional people were detained on Friday in relation to the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, bringing the total number of arrests in the dramatic case to nine.
These five people were arrested for conspiracy linked to the crime and its execution after the Crime Branch conducted raids in the neighboring districts of Panvel and Karjat based on specific information, he said.
The officer stated that the individuals detained had communication with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who are charged with shooting Siddique dead.
