Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa over his recent claim that 50 bombs had landed in Punjab. Questioning the credibility and source of the information, Mann asked, “What is the source of this intelligence? If Bajwa is aware of such a precise number, does he have links with Pakistan? Are terrorists directly informing him about how many bombs they’ve sent into Punjab?”
Mann expressed serious concerns about the origin of Bajwa’s statement, highlighting that neither the state’s Intelligence department nor the Union Government had any such information. He emphasized that such sensitive claims, if true, should have been immediately reported to the Punjab Police and relevant authorities for investigation and action.
The Chief Minister accused Bajwa of making irresponsible statements that could create panic among the public and demoralize the security forces. “If the Leader of Opposition genuinely had access to such critical security information, it was his duty to share it with the law enforcement agencies rather than making it a subject of political rhetoric,” Mann said.
He further stated that Punjab’s security forces are working diligently to ensure the safety of the state and its citizens, and baseless allegations or exaggerated claims only undermine their efforts. Mann called for responsible conduct from political leaders, urging them to avoid statements that could sow fear or confusion among the public, especially on matters concerning national security.
