Stock Market LIVE: Weak global cues and poll fears could cause India equities to decline

Amidst uncertain circumstances ahead of the Lok Sabha election results, Nifty and Sensex can open lower due to negative global signals.

GIFT Nifty futures showed a gap-down opening at 7:14 AM, closing 74 points down at 22,669.50.

The Dow Jones led the losses with a decline of more than 1%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell by 0.74 and 0.58 percent, respectively, as US markets ended the day lower.
