H. D. Revanna, the leader of JD(S) and a former minister, appears to be having more problems. His son Prajwal Revanna, the Hassan MP and the BJP-led NDA’s candidate in this Lok Sabha election, has now been charged with kidnapping one of the alleged victims of sexual assault.
The purported victim previously spent six years working as a maid in the home of H. D. Revanna. According to police sources, a video showing her being “raped” by Prajwal Revanna is making the rounds.
The FIR was filed a few hours before H.D. Revanna’s anticipatory bail request is scheduled to be heard on May 3 at the Special Court for People’s Representatives in Bengaluru. A previous charge of sexual harassment made by a different former maid in Mr. Revanna’s home led to his booking. In that instance, he has requested anticipatory bail. He disregarded the summons and showed up for questioning on May 2 before the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
